  • Introduction to Pam newbies

    Folks,

    I am a serious basket case when it comes to pams. I have searched to enrich myself with pams albeit with limited success. Hopefully this link can help newbies with a fam course on the brand. Hopefully I will be able to afford one myself by end of this month.

              dunno yet. currently in a dilemma, too many other priorities warrant the attention of my wallet and unfortunately, it's always $$$ no enough.

                          useful link.

                          me too trying to get started on PAMs but its really crazy with so many collections out there !

                          to shorten the list, I go for:
                          (1) < 44mm size as I have a small wrist
                          (2) more than just time e.g. chrono/date
                          .... but still end up with too many to choose from !

                          how else are you guys honing your selection ?

                            I think it is a very personal thing. As for me, I'd choose in this manner:

                            One pc luminor series
                            • BNIB is preferred;
                            • titanium/brushed steel case for its rugged look;
                            • 44mm dial preferred;
                            • date/no-date immaterial;
                            • self-wind/auto immaterial; and
                            • price <$7k.

                            One pc radiomir series
                            • BNIB is preferred;
                            • polished steel case for its klassik look;
                            • 44mm dial preferred;
                            • date is preferred;
                            • self-wind/auto is immaterial; and
                            • price <$7k.

                            Hope experts here can recommend. Thanks!

                              Hi metalgear,

                              You might want to reconsider your criteria (1).
                              Like you, I have a small wrist, only 6". I always think that a 44mm pam is really too big for me and that a 40mm would suit me best.
                              When I was shopping for my 1st pam, I tried pam48 (40mm) and discovered it seems "alittle" small and somehow doesn't appeal to me at all.
                              I ended up getting a 44mm and never regretted the decision as I felt that pam should be worn "big or loud".
                              I even got myself a 47mm Radiomir subsequently and think it suits me just fine.
                              Just try out both 40mm and 44mm before you make your purchase, and your choice will be pretty clear. Cheers
                              Pam 232
                              Pam 164
                              Pam 49
