Just call Richemount , was quoted $880 for the deployment buckle .

IMHO , its just not worth it , i rather get a aftermarket DB and spent the money on the original straps , BTW was quoted $300 for the normal calf leather and $500 for alligator straps.

What do you guys think ?

yeah of cos objectively it dun quite make sense ....

panerai deployment: it's very well made and i like it cos leather straps last better than on a tang buckle.... the mechanism is reliable and reassuring....

$400 is already very conservative. But like Ohlins said, u can call up Richemont, Hourglass, Sincere, Cortina to check the prices out.

It's interesting that you have the PAM111 and like the deployment buckle. Most PAM owners typically go for 24mm buckles that are aftermarket. The problem with deployment buckles is that you can only take straps built for them. E.g. If u're thinking of fitting a thick 5mm ammo strap to your watch, the strap is not likely to fit into the deployment buckle.

You might wanna try out www.panatime.com. They have 24mm deployment buckles.

Hmm...If I were to wear OEM straps, I'd go the OEM deployment buckle way. Doesn't really make sense if everything's OEM except the buckle. Check out the accessories corner on paneristi website, once in a while they do have pre owned deployment buckles at less than half the price of the brand new ones u've been quoted.

I find the OEM straps too expensive for my liking. And I'm pretty sceptical about the quality. And as for straps on a luminor, i'd go 24/24 with Ammo and calf straps. However, I'll go 24/22 with Croc/reptile straps as they tend to look better. For S$300, I can get myself a very decent TedSu croc (with his fantastic buckle) or a Simona with an in-sewn buckle.

Wah!!! $800 liao ah...when I got my 111 last month, Cortina quoted me $600+ for the deployant buckle without strap, but no stock. End up buying another black calf at $300 as you mention. Lately have been visiting paneristi and have bought a couple of straps there....got the OEM dive strap with blue stitches...beri nice you know...got time I take pics and display here with the straps I've got..: )

Hi bro, my personal opinion about deployant buckles. They are not very comfortable. Especially using OEM panerai straps.

The watch head is too heavy and the thin tiny strap tends to "sway". It gets a little uncomfortable some times. I always use straps with sewn-in buckle though my pam comes with a deployant buckle as they are usually thicker and more comfortable.
