  • Another Tag Heuer Thread - Monaco

Thought I should start another Tag thread so as not to misdirect the ongoing discussions in the other threads with my query.

I used to like this brand very much (esp the 2000) series of automatics which all my classmates had and I lusted after. Later on I hated it for making so many quartz models and selling them at prices way over deserving for quartz (that includes the electro - mechanical humbug).

But a recent bringing of a friend to WIS-dom (he decided on the carrera) made me rethink the Tag.. in particular I am now captivated by the monaco...

I note that there are now many different models of this old design... square subdials, round subdials, the blue monaco, the gulf edition... what do u guys think of my choice for a representative tag in my collection? and where can i find one for a good price?

Monaco is nice..but square face doesn't suit everyone.

Tag Monaco are very nice, but they are way over-priced.

I always loved the blue tag monaco too. The blue is fierce, and the shape is masculine. The serpent skin version is quite nice too haha. I feel that the LV Speedy watch is almost an imitation, but then again, tag belongs to LVMH.

But its not sapphire glass is it?

Under the sales section, i think wolf selling the tag heuer chronograph, price seems quite good.

Take the Monaco chrono for example.....cost so much and uses a plexi glass crystal! Some may call it vintage but it's a no no for me!
Movement is only decorated with Geneve stripes and pearlage, no blue screws and it's not even certified chronometer for that kind of price.
