  • Guide : which country to buy Panerai

Cld some "guru" give a ranking of the countries/cities where Pams are cheaper, nett basis after deduction of refundable sales tax etc (from ADs). Wld be better if you cld give a rating on the availability of models.

    1- very few models
2- the common models readily avail
    3- good selection of models
4 -Pam Nirvana - u name it they hv it

    eg

Pricing (in increasing order ) - Models Rating

    Italy -4
    Spain - 3
    Spore - 2

    Many thanks.

Last December I saw a pam111 selling in Cape Town at 3800USD. That time, USD was still about 1.44 only. I think South African rand dipped. Wanted to get it but there was no stock. Sigh

Grey market lor... Warranty will not be valid at local Richemont Service Centre.

Depending on the model and series you are looking for too. Brand new? Used?

No definite answer but in Singapore, you still can find some bargain for preowned Panerais.

im not sure where is the cheapest. if im getting a brand new pam, what i will do is check out the list prices in say US, Europe. Dont think there is going to be much difference in list prices between sg and other countries.

                    Factor in the exchange rate
                    Factor in the tax rebate

you should be able to work out the 'cheapest'

Rest assured. Warranty will still be valid if buy from grey market or overseas. All Pams are under international warranty given proper documentation.

Paneraii's correct. Richemont will accept as long as you have valid warrenty booklet / card. If not sure, bring to Richemont to verify.

This is absolute rubbish. All genuine, stamped warranty (if not expired) are valid at all service centre all round the globe (including Richemont), regardless of where the watch was bought from.

This brings me back to the nonsense question of asking a watch is 'local set' or 'overseas set'. There is absolutely no difference as long as it's a genuine set.

Price difference for Pam is mainly 'tax rebute' or currency differences. Where is the cheapest is not always constant. I have bought from Sweden and Paris last year. When Kronos low, sweden cheaper a little. Now Euro low, should be cheaper a little. Tax rebute is 12-16% depending. All said, transport cost to travel around to catch the cheapest also cannot be ignored. Plus, availability in which store/country also not sure. All said, no one knows where is 'cheapest' and got the model you want.

Buy LV or Chanel easier. Availability not an issue. So just get RP minus tax rebate and convert currency....got answer already.

I am assuming you are not flying around just to buy watch lah.
