It is always more expensive to service a daytona as compared to a normal rolex movt due to the more "complicated" movt. It is cheaper to look for external source as RSC will charge a premium price tag for servicing your precious rolex watches.

if compare a quartz watch with chronograph against a mechanical watch with chronograph to service. which will cost more?

are we comparing servicing costs for

          regulateur?
          flyback?
          rattrapante?
          minute repeater?
          perpetual calendar?
          :
          :

          the list goes on........

so your thread title and first post have to be more specific for people to give more accurate views.

or do we need to make some assumptions such as

          1) applicable to mechanical watches?

          2) applicable to both quartz and mechanical watches?

            Hi,

It is a general qns n not abt my watches. Jus some basic knwledge for future purchases. Cos' recent posts on date vs no-date watches n servicing costs made me wonder if I shld nt pursue watches tat come wif more complications. Mainly I'm nt asking anything specific. So te qns is open to discussion. Say for eg, if i m contemplating to buy a day-date function watch n a no-date one, wat is te diff in servicing cost i'm looking at.

            Thanks..

Generally speaking, for most brands, the servicing is more expensive for models with complications. You can check out jw website for a guide of what the difference would be like.

Ahhh... at least it makes sense. So, i'm deducing tat mre complications=higher cost of servicing. And te price varies dpending on where u send to. Oso, agent=higher cost.

                Thanks man..
