  • Profit from our IWC watches...

    hi guys,

    something interesting to share here....

just want to share with you that both Andrew and mine IWC watches have appreciated in resale value. Andrew's Antonio Saint Expuery Pilot watch and my IWC cousteau divers chrono 2007 are limited editions and are currently sold by pre-owned dealers for $9K and $8.7K respectively. Both of us paid much lower than these prices brand new...

This is an example of buying limited edition pieces that allow buyers to make some $$ (not much)...our watches are barely 6 months old (mine's only 2 months old or lesser)...of course, over time i'm not sure if the prices will go north or south...it's anyone's guess...

    cheers

    james

yes. that is the one. however, wolfeyes got it @ very special price. so the resale value has gone up faster.

however, i find that limited edition pieces produced by well known brands tend to have better resale value. just like the IWC double chrono, price appreciated the moment tempus sale was over.

Most of the time piece with potential price appreciation are those less than 200 pcs at special events/launches which do not make it to the AD display windows of ADs . They are already sold out at the event and some part time collectors missed out on the event and willing to offer higher prices to own one . But some full time collectors will have all these highly sort after time pieces (from few ks to few hundreed ks) and the part time collectors will have to buy from the full time collectors . The public seldom got the chance to even touch these rare pieces . Just my personal view .

i totally agree with your post. i hv my thots on this topic but am afraid that my views may offend some brudders. personally, i'm more inclined nowadays to buy watches that offer very good value for money. sad to say rolex just does NOT fit into this category at all.
