Ball Moonlight Special Is In Town

High... but too high a price for me to pay for a ball..

Yeah, agreed, this is one of the more pricey Ball. That said, if u get it in HK, it becomes more affordable!
As much as i like the brown dial (really very nice colour), i find that reading time off the dial is not so easy. It appears to be somewhat cluttered by the sub dials and date scale at the perimeter.

Saw the moonlight special at all watches (Bugis) last sunday. It is indeed a nice watch although the price is a bit on the high side. Further, it is selling at list according to the salesperson. When I commended that it's a high price, he gave me two answers:

1) He had sold one Ball watch (no model given) at $11k.
2) It is an in-house movement (although I though Ball watches does not have their own movement??)

Nonetheless, I still think Ball watches are good sturdy watches suitable as a daily beater

I'm sorry but the salesperson has got to be smoking crack to claim an in-house movement for the Moonlight Special. Its based on the 7750 but it has the added moonphase display. A worked on 7750 but certainly not an in house movement. As for the S$11k, i'm not sure of Ball watches in that price category unless its the Heritage.

Ball watches are indeed very fine time pieces you can get for the kind of money (in general). I'll consider models in the S$1k+ to S$3k category but anything more and i'll look into other brands (as much as i like Ball watches).
