  • Nantsuttei

I went to Nantsuttei with my colleagues for lunch today. It was my first visit and I ordered the Maru-toku Negi Chasu Ramen ($17), which comprised of their basic ramen with all the toppings, shiraga negi, bannou negi, and chashu. I added an ajitsuke tama (flavored boiled egg) for $1.

The soup is a rich, creamy tonkotsu (pork bone) soup. Floating on the surface of the soup is the fragrant black ma-yu (roast garlic oil). All of us liked the soup.

The char siew was not as tender as I would like and the egg was not as flavourful (a tad overcooked too). Nevertheless, it was still a pretty good bowl of ramen.

My favourite ramen in Singapore is still the Roasted Pork Cheek Shio Ramen from Ramen Santouka.
