  • omega speedmaster - used pricing??

    guys (and gals)

i need your opinion on whether this is a good buy or not.

i went to one of my pawn shops in a not so affluent suburb and found a omega speedmaster (manual winding).

Now i want to know what is it worth.

first i will give conditions since i never take photos

    1) bracelet is original + full links
    2) crystal is aftermarket - prefer change to original
    3) manual winding
    4) overall condition looks OK
    5) comes with box, cushion, manuals, warranty card dated: 2002 - must add, the condition is in very bad condition, to the point where the box is as good as to be thrown out
    6) watch looks like needs a service/minor overhaul

If at a good price, I think maybe I can go and talk to them

Good buy or not, depends on the price. Without knowing the price, how to judge?

If you are talking about Speedy Pro, for reference I bought mine for around USD 1800 new more than 1.5 years ago. From what you described, I would get it if it's around USD 1000

Fortunately today we have ebay, forums where we can buy/sell watches. Imagine if buying/selling second hand watches have to go through brick and mortar stores, what would you get if you would have to sell your watch? Not much I guess

that is true, another thing i notice is that they will keep for a while and bring out in 3mths time giving impression like it is "new" stock
