  • advise on pam watches

    Hi,

Have listed a few selection for my 1st pam.
Will any bro here advise on which pam suit the list best.

    A. Historic model (Radiomir/Luminor)
    B. No date
    C. Tobacco dial
    D. Sandwich dial
    E. Prefer Titanium case / SS also will do
    F. Any movement (Manual / Auto)

Will be nice if those that are still in production (cheaper mah)

Bro, it spells PAM232, PAM322 (Minerva mvt, est S$30k+)...or PAM21 (OOP, and freakin expensive...) strongly...

The other tobacco dials are painted instead of sandwich... only the rads listed above have the tobacco sandwich dials that you desire....but price wise.... wooohooo!!!!

    The others will be:

    Contemporary: PAM240, PAM57
    Historics (OOP): PAM116,PAM117,PAM118,PAM56,PAM55,PAM61
    Historics (Special Ed): PAM232, PAM322, PAM21

If price is a concern, I'd advise you to start off with a PAM176/PAM177.

ya price is my main concern so 232 is out.

As for 322 i can go sleep now
      (can start to dream early)

      and 21 dare not dream

look like i will have to decide 176/7.
any pointer ? with or w/o seconds hand?

Hi bro, I am currently crazy about panerais too. The feeling is like swatch when I was younger(due to the huge amount of beautiful straps to interchange based on your mood). I have 6 straps just for a Panerai. Very subtle compared to some people I know! Though very much more expensive!

I just traded my 112 for a 176. Getting another Pam soon. IMHO, I agree with most of the brothers here that you can never go wrong with a base model. You will never grow sick of the base models. That is why some watch designs last for generations(classic look), maybe with just slight changes or even straps. Personally, I prefer titanium watches(very much easier to touch-up for scratches). That is why I traded in for a 176.

Here are few models you can consider which is roughly around the same price range. Plus minus about $1,000.

A good first panerai to start with :

        Manual Wound
        00
        05
        112/176
        111/177

        Happy watch hunting
