  • Seiko Diver Questions

    Hi Guys,

i have zero knowledge on Seikos so need some input here.

My colleague brought this to work today and asked me for my views on it.

I have no idea which model or if this is even vintage or anything.

Looks like tritium dial but watch looks too new to be "vintage"

Any inputs on the following questions will be much appreciated.

    1) What model is this?

    2) What would servicing cost be like for a 7S26 Seiko movement?

    thanks!

its an skx031. Its been discontinued though. The case and bezel certainly looks new, it looks more like the dial are "baked" than natural patina though. Well, I may be wrong. You can take it to the uncle at k2 for seiko watch servicing

Yes i did a quick cross reference and the second hand seems shorter then the correct one. Will probably find a replacement during servicing

Also read that there's no winding of crown for this auto movement and the day / date only fully changes over the space of 4 to 5 hours after 12am - which is true to what i have witnessed so far.

Took it off my colleague for 80bucks! LOL

Seems like pretty good value! 'Grats on the new acquisition... but the road to Seiko appreciation is a slippery downhill one. Hahahaha! I slipped down that slope myself just recently. hahahaha!

oh yes, doing some homework, the range and variety is simply mindboggling. Doubt I'll dare venture that far.... haha
