Always wanted a golf, but the mechanical faults are too much to stomach.

My Suzuki now 7 years old.
    Changed ignition coil 01x
    Changed battery 02x

Nothing else except regular service n tyres.

Any feedback on the car? Insurance still okla hor? I heard some -ve feedback on vw dsg online but hope that its only for small pool of ppl.
I drive a golf sport. It's 3 1/2 this year. Bought it brand new. Very spacious hatchback. Great handling. One of the best cars I've driven. I like coffee and the cheeses sticks they have at the vw showroom too. And I enjoy making friend's with the vw service staff. Furthermore, vw, allows you to test drive their cars for days ( I test drove a polo for almost a week!) and they allow you to bring the car home too! That's if you are able to get hold of one. To date, I've done real life test drives home in a passat, beetle and polo.

They honor their warranty without hesitation, too! They even extended the warranty on the clutch by 2 years or 100,000km. So far, they had fixed a structural leak, replaced my aux fan, air-conditioner unit, steering rack, ignition coil, head lamp, both brake lights' holders, water pump, both front window winders and of course, the clutch and 3 times in totla! Making my current clutch the third unit to have been fitted on my ride.

Oh! Did I mention the ride comes with a free pet bird that loves to chirp?

And there is absolutely no rush to service your car. Service bookings are always guaranteed and they only allow advance bookings of up to 2 months. Don't rush them.

Out of my group of 7 vw owner friend's(2 tourans, 1 golf, 2 siroccos, 2 jettas), all but one have experienced the infamous clutch issue. 1 sirocco had a flat battery in his less than 1 year old ride. 2 had the flashing "D" mechatronic issue.

But if you like a pocket rocket with a road tax of about $600+ per annum, insurance of below $1k (50% ncd), reasonable fuel consumption and performance to boot, and enjoy visiting the vw showroom, go for a vw anytime.

In a nutshell, it's a great car to drive but a nightmare to own.

    Guess which 1 is mine?

None.....haih, just helping colleagues to shift cars...haha

Felt like driving a tank in the Land Rover. The Peugeot 206cc is just too small for me, the rear seats are ridiculously cramped. Think only suitable for ppl < 165cm. BMW coupe is 1 of my favorites but the price in SG is just too not worth it for the car lah.......

Only the sports version has twin charge.. Boot space wise, its very hard to find another car with such space! So far very happy with my ride, and no issues with gearbox yet. Do not go test drive one, otherwise chances are you'll end up buying. Haha

No personal car (parents car no count!) but love driving nonetheless. As seen from my nick, my dream car would be a Honda S2000. Cheers
