Some may buy a rolex and take public transport while some will buy a car and just wear a regular watch. Just a difference in their point of views.

Beside the current VW scandal in US the current TSI engines and the above mentioned DSG gearbox have been causing lot of problems.
The gearbox often caused probs after few years so complete exchange been needed.
Mostly happen already out of warranty.
TSI engines are victims of VWs downsizing politics to reach the goal of fuel economy and less air pollution (see their software manipulation).

VW really cannot make it as their DSG gear box are always giving the problem...

However, i can only say that the car do have very good fuel efficiency which does save a lot of petrol cost!
