  • Marina Bay Sands staycation advice

Hi all, anyone stayed at MBS recently and have advice to offer? Like how to get extra stuff, sky park passes, good and cheap food? I've never been there but will be there soon, so I appreciate advice on restaurant reviews, whether it's worth the $20 extra to get sky park passes for my parents, or whether I'll get free wifi in room.

Anyone stayed there recently can share your experience?

    Thanks!

Dun park there unless u go free parking( parking is a killer like RWS from what I hear ). Kraze burger beside the skating ring is top notch! Look out for the night lazer/sound/water show at the bund.

Thanks Iceheller. Like gmt8300 said, I went to check out the hotel website and also made a call to the hotel staff. Seems there's a $6 per 24hr parking for hotel guests, but I forgot to double check if that means I just park there and don't move or if I can make multiple entries/exits....

            $6 = 1 card for exit use.

If you want to use the frindge to say put in a cake... u might want to do rearranging and hence take out and put in ...

Hi people, I'm back from the staycation and found the advice really useful!!! I've got some comments myself and some advice to offer as well.

1)The fridge is impressive. Sensor based. So whatever gets moved gets noted by the hotel and charged to your account. This is to prevent you from buying a replacement for their VERY EXPENSIVE items in the fridge.

                2) The pool was a hit and miss. Got lots to see, lots of impressive scenery. ALso got lots of people, too many in fact. and swimming is nearly impossible since you will bumped into many cameras and camera phones while inside.

                3) Hotel carpark is VALET only. I think it's $6 for up to 12 hours. If you want to self-park, you need to park at The Shoppes at MBS, which is quite a distance to walk while carrying your bags. The parking coupon option only avail to self-park guests.

                4) City view may allow you to see the light shows at night. The Bay view is gorgeous as you can see sun rise and the Gardens by the Bay.

                5) Hotel food options limited to expensive restaurants like Rise and the Chinese one (can't remember the name) except for sweet spot which serves cakes and deserts and a nice Subway like sandwich (around $10). Other restaurants are in The Shoppes at MBS. However, your ACTIVE key card can get you some discounts at the restaurants in The Shoppes, like Au Chocolate. But you need to hand over your keycard, hence I emphasize on ACTIVE card and not a "souvenir" card you kept from another visit.

                6) Bathroom was huge (Premier room).

                7) got turndown service if you ask for it.

                =)

                    My experience with MBS.

I booked a 2d1n (Sat to Sun) staycation and tried to check-in at 3pm but was told to come back at 4pm as the room was not ready. So came back at 4pm, the staff told me that the room was still not ready which i replied "So u want me to come back at 5pm izzit?"
The Manager who was next to the staff sensed that i was unhappy then took over. After checking the system, he offered to upgrade me to a Suite with late check-out. That was a surprise!

You can use the valet service and let them know your room number so that you can make multiple entries/exits within 24hr

It was the least they could do considering the cockup in getting your room ready on time, which they should have done so in the first place..
