Hi triton,
For IWC i only consider BP as i simply fall in love with the BP look , it look so cool ! My frd alry bought the PR PR, but the watch just dun grow on me , the back case is sexy though .
Actually i try to stick my collection to only ROLEX , after i bought my 1st Pam , i tell myself , since i like the PAM so much , might as well get the flagship pam, of course not refering to those collector's pieces , So now thinking of 233 or 270 ,
I'm afraid once i go into IWC , i might start buying AP Roo , than i tell myself might as well save the $ and go for the Patek , so its never ending .
I tell myself i only buy a PP , when i turn 40 ,I always thought i must own a PP one day to pass down to my son as what their slogan suggest ,
If i dun follow all this rules , soon i find myself buying and selling alot of watch and loseing alot of money.
So now i try to stick to pam and rolex , but my heart keep thinking of the BP,
Someone help me pls.......
sure can share. forum is about sharing information and gaining experience.
the gurus say it is these base models that is the 'core' and historic pieces. looking @ the entire range, pam started off with these pieces so they are termed as the 'essence' of panerai. that is why i should consider pam 0 etc.
like you, date is the second most used feature other than telling time. so.....how?
Haiz... sometime too many choices also no good.... hahaha...
Hmm... gurus are true also in some way. But, none of these historic peices have date leh. I think buy what u really like and suit u the best lah. 233 really a nice good watch, if you can afford bro. It has features u want and most imptly, filling in the missing slot. Listen to your heart bro. Hahaha...

to add on for your consideration - push your budget and get the Longines Legend Diver. It's the poorman's version of the Polaris reissue... and one of the best value watch I have evar gotten. With that, you wld resolve 3) and then you can get 1)!
the price of 233 is about that price. IWC also there. not sure about 270.
personally why i like the 233 is because i dont have pam in my collection as some of them know. so the 233 is more of a AIO for me, i would like to have 1pam in my collection that is why i thought of the 233 as it has all the 'features' in various models.
if you are building a watch collection across some brands, then IWC would be my recommendation. since it is power reserve feature in IWC, have you considered the portuguese PR or the ingenieur PR, both are slightly cheaper. if you are not going for the big pilot look, then u may want to consider the other 2 variants. not sure if you are looking for PR watch. do note that for the BP model, according to Richemont staff if the watch loses accuracy as the PR gets low, it is common.
Hi bro triton , i'm kind of in the same situiation as you .
But only diff is i'm considering between , Pam 233 , 270 or IWC BP .
Maybe we can update each other , I got a offer for a BNIB 233K for 15.5k , IWC BP BNIB last mth at 14k .
270 didn't really got a gd offer worth to mention .
