$500 for a gmt bezel

Walked into this established watch dealer at ground floor in golden landmark.
Asked for a gmtii 16710 bezel insert replacement.
The BIG boss said :"have, $500."
Walked out immediately.

Heard gd things about this shop but will never recommend anyone to go near there.
Some people are just too arrogant to be given business.
Be prepared to walk in with a load of cash to buy his AP or else be treated like an idiot.

I also thought he heard wrongly. I repeated:"insert only" in English.
He again said: "yea, I have, $500" in Chinese.

Im not sure he has one or not or just not willing to sell so quoted at this price. Or this is his way of shooing non-byuers of big items away.

I went like 6 mths back wearing my ball n asked to c a tt Daytona. Wah, kns, the auntie like very buay song n give me that "r u sure?" kind of look. Even when she showed me, she gave me that "you r given only 10s to c" n so scared I run out of shop with it attitude.

$500 bucks for an insert... they must be out of their minds man... and that shop with this kind of bad customer service should be reported on stomp la... how do they manage to stay in business with this kinda attitude towards customers... i'm for sure staying away from that place...

Actually he was just quoting you the price RSC would have quoted for the part purchase.

JW quoted me S$400 for new Aluminium inserts for my Seamaster too. Same price the Swatch group quoted me. In the end, obviously I did the replacement at Swatch

Honestly, if JW charges 400 excluding labour for an Omega insert, I think what "that shop" quoted you for your Rollie isn't too bad.

Heard a few times that the boss has gotten very cocky as his business grew... your post kinda seal his fate with me... thanks for sharing such lousy shop... wouldnt patronise him at all!
