started a topic For Those Born In The 50's, 60's and 70's

For Those Born In The 50's, 60's and 70's

Gone were the good old days, when....

    1) we had to bring along our red/green/blue tumblers with toothbrush to school and brush our teeth after recess time. (there was some kind of red sweet where we had to chew on, and the tooth with the reddest dye was considered decay ?)

    2) Plaza Singapura was at its best, with Yaohan, and the most unforgettable supermarket at B1, where we will queue up to buy ICEE and hang around at the toy dept, watching cartoons.

    3) cartoon soundtracks rock in those days !! eg. Mask, bravestarr, centurions, saber riders, silver hawk. I personally think that cartoons from this generation are retards.

    4) we tried to remember those "poems" from the super heroes called VISIONARIES ??

    5) transformers. Instead of "more than meets the eye", we would call it "no money to buy"

    6) Baskin robbins, A&W...why did u have to leave SG.

    7) Those cheapo candies with toys. eg ding dang (dark blue box) and TORA

    8) SBC drama serials. The recent ones quite retard. luckily there's still TVB.

    9) cinema tickets were thin slips of paper, scribbled with a thick black pencil. Last time got circle seat. haha. And what was the name of the old cinema which is occupied by Cineleisure ?

    10) Panini sticker books. (age of the dinosaurs, ghostbusters)

    11) schools ordered milk for us. got choco and banana flavours.

    12) textbooks were from CDIS, with Mr Yaki, Mr Wollie, Sumei

    13) Umbro schoolbags were IN

    14) talking about IN, there used to be a dept store called "IN" at dhoby ghaut MRT

    15) pencil cases that had lots of button. you press on a certain button, a magnifying glass will pop out.

    16) A bowl of noodle soup costs 30 cents. 50 cents for big bowl.

    17) Sharity elephant.

    18) OP wallets !!!

    19) You brought every single exercise book to school, even if there weren't any related lessons ! Our bags were huge.

    20) pager codes like 1-177155-4

pls add on....it brings tears to my eyes...hahah
