With the mad rush now to grab stocks, don't think ADs really need to give discounts to attract sales.

Yes Rolex has not increased prices in Japan for last 2 years iirc, and sgd against jpy has also strengthened steadily. The problem is really stock availability. Most ADs reserve the popular models for regulars.

Most of the popular Rolex models are out of stocks at AD, also SD has reduced or stop giving discounts for Rolex Sport Models..

Seem like owning a Rolex just get more and more expensive...

Yup, I think for rolex, Japan is cheaper for quite some time due to weak yen.

no drop la, previously sub c date was around 700kjpy iirc. Not just cos of swiss francs effect but other luxury imports also affected eg Hermes price increased last week cos of recent jpy weakening.

relax relax... why so gan cheong....now most of the 2nd hands shops have raise their prices on their time pieces cos of strong demand and less supplies... when theres low demand and more supplies... i believe the price will be back to normal... hopefully my guess is right... if not... there goes my AP....

Rolex will increase the price of its steel Submariner Date with a black bezel by 8% to ¥810,000 ($6,800) from Feb. 1, said a Tokyo-based spokeswoman, who asked not to be named because of the company’s policy. It will be the first increase since November 2013, according to the watchmaker.
