Small watches are passe. Small watches look weird :-/. Having said that, watches bigger than 45mm is way too big for Asian wrists

Funny that I bump into this thread seeing that the last two watches I purchased is a 37mm JLC and a 36mm Datejust. I think both look perfectly fine on my wrist despite my bigger than average physique. Some disagree, but hey, they didn't pay for my watches.

Smaller dials have stood the test of time and will continue to do so.

For dressier watches, I'm sure <38mm watches will still work well.

Big watches faces have only been a recent fad in the grand scheme of things and this might very well change with tastes in fashion and for practical reasons as well.

There is a limit of how big our wrists are and how big watches can fit in a business shirt/suit

My wrist is just 6 inch. 38mm fits me well actually.

I like the Day-Date at 36mm because it is just the right size for a solid gold watch.

I regularly still wear some vintage Benrus, Hamilton, and Bulovas from the 60s that are 34 and 36mm sizes.
