  • Was away for a few days... Harddisk qns..

Damn... my harddisk crashed... tho i tink should be able to retrieve some of its data..

so was not online at all for the past few days...zz..

Any pc guru can help ?

The harddisk is my slave IDE hdd... unable to access it at all.... tho bios can 'see' it... it takes damn long to log into windows (take it out and i can boot up much much faster).... even in windows.. everything is damn slow... HDD activity light is always on.. cannot view the hdd contents from explorer, etc...

tried to fix partition, etc but a few programs also unable to 'fix' it... keep getting a unable to read drive error...

I would suggest the first most important thing is... DO NOT SEND IT TO A SHOP or risk being an S'pore version of Edison.. kekeke

        Ok... seriously...

If I were you, I would strongly suggest that you connect your HDD as a secondary drive onto another PC, Access it, and copy out your data first, then think about how to identify the problem... At worst case, if you have your data already, just do a format and re-install.. sometimes its alot better...

        Reckon on Vista??

If yr PC was on Vista, I reckon when load up, you see alot of lines appearing during boot up, then BLUE SCREEN with more text lines???

If so, its bloody MS problem.. It supposedly installed a "patch" prior to yr last shut down, and it installed / replace some file that made it "corrupted"...
