they also quite smart, if you go to them pretending to sell w/o the actual watch, they might just give ya a wider range, but subjected to actual condition... open up the case liao then say got a worm inside, can only offer another(lower) amount..

To be fair to 2nd hand dealers ...... selling price - take in price is not equal to their profit margin. As someone mentioned, they got shop rental and other bills, staff salaries etc to cover. Sometimes, after they take in a watch, they send for polishing and servicing before putting up for sale, some do give their own 1 yr service warranty too. So the price usually higher than buying from private seller lor.

One more thing, for those pre-owned shops with websites, sometimes their prices stated in the web is jacked up for international buyers one... For serious local buyers, walk in to the shop have a chat with them, usually the price is negotiable and can be lowered abit.

Depends on the model I would say. Submariner is a evergreen, always there 1.

I would say 10 yrs you would be able to breakeven and make profit. To just breakeven, prob 8-9 yrs also can but depends on the market.

20 30 yrs...I mean if you are talking about other brands say Tag or prob a fashion brand like Chanel or CD. After 10 yrs it's already quite crap already the resale,20 30 yrs...sometimes it's with the karang guni man's thrash. Well, their value is practically not there...

As far as I compared,it would take 10 yrs to cover the cost and who knows even make a small profit. And by that time it's double the retail price already.

My mum's TT DJ was bought for $5600 in 93,list price is now 11k?
