Hi,

Can I add tat te bezel is anothr clear indicator of the type of metals; i.e. Engineton/dome bezels=SS/plat, n te other (dunno how to call it)=WG.

Bezel is one indicator...but it's not accurate. It took me a long time to understand every single model and how to tell...

Engine = SS ONLY

Dome = SS,WG,Plat

Fluted = WG,RG,YG,Plat

i am curious how you tell the difference SS and WG or even platinum, all looks the same to me, maybe close up still possible

Anyway i was in town just now saw a ROO with rubber strap, a lady with a panerai and of course more rolex

That's a good question brought up. They differentiate it by the models. Certain models have WG, certain models have plat...etc...so it does not repeat. Except for the daydate...

Here's a quick guide to help.

For difference between SS and white gold...

Datejust -> WG is available only in Presidential and Masterpiece bracelets. SS available in Oyster and jubilee bracelet.

Daytona -> SS available in stick markers,with black or white dial only. WG is available in Roman numerals,arabic numerals,diamond dial.

For WG and Plat...hahaha...

Daydate -> IMPOSSIBLE.
