Well I will keep my spreadsheet in my tree (never had e intention to share; it's trade secret, u know).
I will con't to bark at ppl who lies bout being treated badly in Richemont Service Ctr (my wife was treated badly when she sent in her 49 for servicing, my mate when he sent in his destro... these are not lies),
misinform other members bout things that aren't true (well, of the top of my head, i cannot recall anyone else on this forum with a proven fact of trying to sell a fake rolex bracelet and also selling a 'rojak' complete rolex on the basis that potential buyers should know that that it was a rojak assembled piece),
cheat with stories that no one can verify (i think alot of members still waiting for you to substantiate like what triton has requested),
spread baseless accusations and insult other members like me (i really donno whether to laugh or weep when i read this) while still have the cheek to ask for apologies...
I never say I'm an expert (ehm, according to your previous posts, you are the one with the sacred Excel manual recording all 'valid' pam transactions right?)

Why is polished case an undesirable thing? Sorry if I ask stoopid question. I da newbie.. Thanks.

Holes, dings, bents, dents, deep scratches, hairline scratches, twirls are all OK as long as e case & caseback are still water resistant.

Don't polish anything unless u got a super-super deep deep dents due to motorbike or bicycle or skydiving or rock climbing or skateboard accident (u must be crazy to wear PAM for these activities)
Many Panerai models are meant as toolwatch. Only a handful are dressy.
It's OK to let the defects be as they are if u can live with it if it's a toolwatch.

I'm sure there are watch lovers who stare at the watch all e time with 8x loupe & couldn't even eat, sleep or drink if there's a 0.1mm hairline gash.

I have also met watch luver with a bent lugs thanks to a door pane and he couldn't even give a hoot.

If u polished ur case, bezel, crown, bridge, lever, caseback & buckle, no doubt u will be able to remove all the surface defects.

But if u do so on brushed steel (eg bridge, lever, case, back, buckle), the brush stroke used by service centre are rougher & deeper than factory.
& this is a telling sign of an polished / reworked brushed steel.

For polished surface (case, lugs, bezel) it's harder to tell as there's nothing on e surface to refer to.

BUT if u or some1 else have another watch with same case, bezel, caseback & buckle that u ar 100% sure & trust to be really unpolished, u can place both the unpolished & the "suspected" watch side-by-side and u'll be to see right away the over-rounded corner at the edge of e case, case-back.
U can oso see e over-sharpen corners at the bottom of e lugs & buckle.
The crown lever edge could be rounded during e polishing if e polisher is not experienced.
The crown bridge can oso end up over-sharpen.

I have never owned any polished watch, so I cannot take any pics to show all this.
I have only seen other watches worn by my buyers when we meet up & sometimes we manage to compare when I happen to wear watch with e same parts.
Or course I dun go around taking pics & comment on my buyer's watch.
I just like to compare & ask him where he/she got his watch & if he/she knows if e watch has been polished.

Anyway, if any member can provide a Rad 47mm or 1950 47mm watch which is polished, I will be glad to offer my below average photography skill to take some photos & post em here & all forums.
