have to agree on bro 116520. if i say pardon, am i good? if i say hang, am i bad? it just views. maybe if i say pardon that young chap family will say i good. if i say hang that young chap family will say i bad. so it neither right nor wrong.

I would prefer to stay neutral on this issue as to each individual view could be vice versa. Just my 2 cents.

I will be very disappointed with the Singapore judicial system if this guy is pardoned. He is a monster in the making, if he's ever let loose, our society and future generations will be in danger. Dun let this happen!!! Quick! Get the noose ready!!

i thnk at 18, he shld already know the consequences. The fact that he wants to try, means he know what he is heading for, but deliberately wanna challenge the system in the hope for fast money.

now when caught, cry father cry mother. whats the point? if he wasnt caught he might be laffing at the system liaoz. I think unless hes still like 7-10 yrs old with no knowledge of right and wrong, then probably still pardonable as he is being made used of. in this case, he chose the road. so face the consequence.

also, its not just about the amount of drugs he brought in. you guys have to look at the bigger picture..its not jus about the drugs, robbers, snatch theft, robbing of the elderly, getting high and committing rape, getting into fights etc these are jus some other social problems that the govt have to consider. its a fact that the above mentioned crimes have some been linked to drug addicts

for those who have a good life (enjoying your beautiful timepieces) you will hardly or never see what life those people go through, jus becos the drug problem is somewat contolled in Singapore, we should not get complacent and tink its time to start sounding like angels..

    my 2 cents..
I agree too. To be compassion is not just about pardoning people....it's also about upholding the system that would result in a greater good for all in the society.
The rules are clear and it is important for the gatekeepers to guide it else the system is at risk of failing. Thus, president's pardon is not something that should be used frequently. Every time it is used, it is actually a slap on the judicial judgement.

Anyone with compassion will melt one's heart.

Indeed, young and naive will be led astray, the authorities should go after the mastermind instead of getting this poor scapegoat. Crushing down the mastermind behind the scenes will save more similar boys from being used.

Should uproot the root of evil!
