A Family's Plea at the Istana

In response to the post on following US example, not all states in the US abolished capital punishment...

Just recently, in the state of Utah, was a prisoner executed... The prisoner's execution method of choice: by firing squad... Prisoners are given a choice how they want to be executed in that state... Go figure...

The people would prefer no dealth penalty. However, they also acknowledge that this penalty is the main reason that Singapore is veer safe and low in drugs, weapon and killing crimes.

My stand is that if someone takes away another person's innocent life, then he needs to be made to pay for it. Of course, there be no end to debate on this like a GP essay. Different people have different beliefs.

I believe that to prevent high crime rate or people to commit serious crime is through education and not punishment. To me, death penalty is an inhuman punishment that will only happen in an uncivilized country, we can use punishment like life imprisonment without parole for serious crime as he is still paying for what he have done but just in a longer process. But still i agree what you have said that different people have different beliefs.

That is why i have said that hope for MIRACLE will happen on him for the President pardon. Anyway, i feel that Singapore should have abolish the sentence of death penalty, cause that is really an inhuman punishment. Maybe can follow country like USA to have heavy punishment like imprisonment for up to 80 or even 100 years cause i feel that you can punish people who have done wrong by taking away their freedom but not their life.

Singapore is well known for its anti drug laws and it should remain as it is. Appearing to have soften up will really open floodgates and cause more harm to innocent people on the island.

Should give the young man a chance as he have realise his mistake and willing to change for the better. Hope that miracle will happen on him for the President pardon.
