Well said....Originally posted by icecream View PostMy views on different homes:

No big doggies allowed
Condo
Secure (with security guards, restricted access to building...)
Property management to look after building compound facilities..
(noisy neighbours or wat just complain can liao)
Slightly more privacy than HDB
Maintainance fee - usually higher for better location/newer property.. eg $500+ for a condo at jervois road
Tennis Court
Landed Property
Maintainance fee ownself pay, not split with neighbours
Can have patio, garden, own pool, BBQ pit
Can have all the doggies you want.

True...moreover the environment is different.Originally posted by triton View Postliving in a house and living in a HDB/Condominium is different. this is because there is a need to take care of common property. u will have to put up with more neighours compared to living in a house.
staying in a high-rise building means u have to be prepared for walking up 10 floors should the lift break down. no more backyard/front yard. having to look for a car park lot as there is none reserved for u personally.
most important is comfort level
I think the biggest difference between HDB and condo is the security. I walk home at night I feel safe nothing to worry about....in the case of a HDB,you always worry if there's someone following you or not.
I would love landed property personally...more space more comfort. Was staying in s'goon gardens when I was younger, before I moved to my current place, really love the space, the garden. And also...the environment and people is different.
Ok ok...noted. Now this are the answers I m looking for.Originally posted by Hary View PostIf enough money, I would buy a good piece of property with good location. Property is about location.
If my money is not enough to buy good property, stay at HDB, keep the cash. Cash is King

Ok la...I didn't want to say this at first but...I shall now
My dad asked me this question some time back...he asked if we were to choose..to move to a HDB but hav alot of extra cash.
Or stay at our current place
Actually we considered quite alot of factors..then we decided to see how it goes and stay at where we are now.
Now I am just asking you guys...a casual question la...let's not think too much factorsLast edited by Darkangel; 06-07-08, 03:00 PM.

Hmm...yeah I think this question is abit too vague coz have to consider many factors.Originally posted by triton View Posti would ask
1) 300K for a flat @ where?
2) 750k for a condominium @ where?
this would affect my decisions. too many open possibilities.
do i currently have any gym/club memberships. this is because if i have, flat is ok. however, if i dont and i require club facilities, then condominium might be a better choice.
how old is the individual? this is because i dont think anyone will just take the lump sum of money and pay for the new housing. does not make economical sense. it would make more sense to use part of the money to pay the new housing and used part of the remaining sum to do investment.

Ok guys...here's a little question for u.
IF You just sold your house for X00k. Looking for a place to stay....
Would you...
1) Buy a HDB for (X-5)00k,buy a Merc/BMW for (X-6)00K and keep the cash? OR
2) Buy a condo for X00k,continue driving your X0k Jap car?
What's your take on this? Well short term you will be cash rich, long term you will be asset rich.Last edited by Darkangel; 06-07-08, 02:19 PM.Tags: None
