I didn't know AMEX got surcharge for luxury product cause usually when I sign overseas for accommodation I don't see any surcharge by AMEX

Not on luxury products but on overseas transactions. I compare the rates when using diff cards. Scb and amex seem to have worse rates due to added charges. If u do a Google u can find info about this as well.
