Minimerc, thanks for sharing what you think. I dun do scalping because I feel that it's dumb to be risking more than what you could be making. No offense to any scalpers out there. Just my personal opinion. Another thing is that I do not use a robot or EA as well. There is no strategy or techniques that can be used throughout the years. Market keeps changing and we the traders have to do so as well. Anyway, the bro found it useful as well to start from the basics again after attending the class. I did not force anyone to attend the class as well. Basically just sharing whatever that I think could benefit people. If some bros out there feels that I am forcing people to attend the class because I up my posts once in a while, then it doesn't make sense when people selling items can up their posts once a day and I can't share the dates once in a while even when it's free? Dun understand the logic behind it...
Anyway, there's classes this coming Wednesday and Thursday, 4th and 5th of April. Interested parties can contact me at 96325421.
Cheers!

tips?? yeah, follow adam smith's theory of specialisation: you make more money doing what you do best than venturing into unknowns.Originally posted by Samlim View Postany forex tips to share?
it is unusual that no one has came forth in forum to advertise today's invest column in strait imes that "mentors" help mentees make money?? And to those who believe they know the Fx mkt after a few hours of crash course of TA and FA or technimentals etc: the fx mkt is simply the simplest mkt, so simple that no one understands; thus explain the reason why all bank spot traders and macro fx funds all died! there's nothing much to undertsand cos differenct forces are at work at different times depending on situations. If you understand the mkt, it is like saying how one understands the net effect of the individual central banks' short term and long term monetary policies, occasional intervention for reasons not due to economics without or with sterilsation, QE and LTROs, importers and exporters commerical and hedging needs, SWF flows, HF movements, IMF open interest, traders' defence of their digitals, kiko, RR etc. it is so unusual that some individual are trying hard to smplify a highly mystified mkt...
to read the fx mkt, you need to predict the stock mkt in risk on/off environments. well, if u want to trade the fx mkt, you might be better off trading the stock mkt which has been leading the fx mkt for the past many quarters?
thats being said, it is unusual that no one has came forth AGAIN in forum to advertise today's invest column in strait imes that "mentors" help mentees make money?? or perhaps they have been doing so subtlely???

I really have to disagree with this. I will have to repeat, risks come from not knowing what you are doing. You lose out to bigger FISH because you do not think the same way as those bigger fish. You have to understand those trading "secrets" and some are as below,Originally posted by Hyundai8818 View PostI only know forex, stock mkt, deriatives etc.... all but a scam
BIG FISH eat small fish that simple !
Basically there are 2 basic parts in such trading. 1. the technical analysis, 2. the fundamentals. I am very sure if you are able to master these 2, you will not say that its a scam.
Ask yourself, have you done sufficient homework to understand the market/instruments/indices you are trading? Do you know how to manage what you have? Do you know when to enter/exit? What are your strategies when it comes to risky market? Do you know what the market thinks?
It is easy for others because they know what they are doing, people lose because they dont know. And its a sad sight to see many commoners fall for the easy money trap, when it comes to money its never easy.

boss,
perhaps i can connect you and your mentor to 1 of my friends Dr M. A~, a very prominent quan trader/quan hedge fund owner (he never advertise in papers proclaiming he was hedge fun trader or someone who defeated a central bank before) specialising in HFT in indicies/FX? he is constantly looking for ppl and ideas which makes him and his clients lots and lots of $$$. i bet he will be very interested to know how your mentor trade live and perhaps not a pre-recorded price movement. If he likes your methods, discipline and secrets (apparently now disclosed and taught by your mentors to many successful discipines), he may buy you a couple of Optus V instead of you working hard to fuel your occasional Rolex.
you posted so many times but only got 1 attendee so far. Can i suggest that you give out some freebies such as some free trading softwares or free trading credits to entice potential attendees NOT from this forum? Am sure you will get > 1 RSVP... else, conduct courses on rolex, sure full house everytime!
regardless, do bear in mind that retail traders will lose out eventually on slippages regardless whether mkt moves in your favour or not. good luck to you and your team. perhaps we will always be on the opposite side of the same trade, who knows.

even if he got benefits, he will not disclose to you. its all part of withholding information to "sweeten" the situation.Originally posted by seikosiao View Post...So why is it that you keep telling people to contact you for free courses? From Nov 2011 till now, there are more than 10 posts from you asking people to contact you if they want to attend free courses. However, there are many other members mentioning that it is not as simple as what you have put forth.
So why is it that you keep telling people to contact you for free courses? There must be benefits for you else you wont keep asking people to attend.
Not only 1 member is warning others about the dangers of forex, but several other members including senior members. As another member already pointed out, more than 3 times is like no-no. Why do you still keep offering people the idea?

trading is about taking risk; without risk, why even bother to trade? if trade without leverage, i wonder how many watches or frequently can a successful retail trader fuel his watches purchases after all the trading slippages, especially in this rangy mkts? And if one places tight/trailing stops or TP, he will probably get squared more frequently than he can imagine, and eventually dig himself into "law of large number" effect where luck will run out. And how merciful can black swans in FX mkts be to conservative traders?? if so conservative, might as well go invest in MM or soverign bond funds? Just like those housing experts who conduct expensive forums, these trader/mentors probably make far more money conducting lessons than trading and they offer you nothing mroe than a textbook could offer. Whatever advise they have, they will say what you like to hear: that their strategies are conversative, disciplined, test and proven pre-programmed trading formulaes with oco levels etc., requires little time and energy except the initiation and orientation stage, .., followed by some magic shows on "live" trading. viola, thousand bucks of profits within minutes, made by housewives with little Fx or economic knowledge and little effort??!
i hope this forum won't eventually turn into japanese housewives FX clubs or a MLM platform.... the bucket shops/online brokers/mentors certainly make more money than our poor naive retail scalpers...

This is another bull**** concept. Big profitable trades can come from small profitable trades. Traders let their profit runs and cut loss prematurely. Control greed? Successful traders control fear and good risk n money mgt, not control greed. Good traders stop their trading if tgey have bad days, not when they have good days.Originally posted by xiao_jay1943 View PostMy coach always tells me to be firstly, disciplined and secondly, patience. A winner always stops when he has won enough. That's why u must first control the greed. Discipline is very very important...
