with due respect as well bro rooster...there's some frustrations pent up as i understand. if i may suggest, it isn't going to help much if this continues...(maybe mod may delete the thread again like what you said so this will take a long time to end and you'll be more or continue to be frustrated)
i'm not kept in the loop of what've happened and i know i must have missed some important points ...i personally hope to have a friendlier forum that i can enjoy logging in often to learn, share and make some friends... perhaps it's a small x'mas wish i have for this forum..i hope it'll materalize with efforts from all of us mods & members. Afterall, it's a forum so perhaps let's not take it so personally and enjoy what the forum has to offer? everyone errs...perhaps you can be that greater man to forgive, dun you agree bro?
referring to my earlier post.....if my memory still serves me right........(from about 2001)... I remember asking the staff at the tax rebate (TRAVELEX) counter under what circumstances do I have to show the actual product......and the reply was.......''Usually, products over 1k pounds, they will very likely ask to see cos the amount of tax is quite substantial.....''
SO, STUFF ALL THINGS OVER 1k GBP IN HAND LUGGAGE (just in case).........or maybe i was just shabby looking and they thought i was claiming on behalf of someone else back then.........:P
Mine bout a few hundred pounds per item..shld be ok

''In his Pre-Budget Report on 24 November 2008 the Chancellor announced that the standard rate of VAT will be reduced to 15% on 1 December 2008.
This means that for any sales of standard-rated goods or services that take place on or after 1 December 2008 providers should charge VAT at the new rate of 15%. ''
not sure if this will affect the tax rebate percentage........
The VAT is 17.5% but the actual refund you will get is about 12.5% if i remember correctly. If u are buying expensive stuff, it is very important that you put those stuffs, as many as you can in your hand luggage........cos i almost kena before when i was in london.........hehe, bought my first Datejust there....then during claiming the tax at the airport......the staff ask me for proof of purchase, i.e. they want to see the actual stuff.....it was on my wrist at that time, so no problem.......
However, in saying that , i remember that i read somewhere very recently that the UK government is suspending the VAT charges to boost consumer spending........not sure whether this is actually implemented or not..........suggest u ask your cousin to check it out first.....if no VAT charges on the receipt means it is currently in force........saves any tax claims procedures.....
Someone help me!! How much VAT rebate can I get from UK?
Can get LV from there...cheaper there!
