Hi. Thanks for your contribution. Has anyone thought about the watch being magnetize prior handed to me. Do we know for how long he didnt wear it until the day he took it along in a box and handed it to me. Had it been magnetise during this space of time i am sure crippy would not know of it and therefore he was right in saying he has no knowledge of it. Would it be fair that i paid for the repair if its magnetize?
I'm glad that i still have all the sms transpire between us from the time i enquire about the watch until our last b4 i left for K.L.
No where did i curse his religion and if i really do so i would be cursing the very religion i embrace bcos we both share the same faith, same surname and it was on this basis that i told him i trusted him when i brought up the problem to him the first time and he said there is no inherent problem.. I told him "ok i trust a fellow christian brother.thks". And did i curse his family when i said "im sure your future kids will pick up some valuable lessons from you". Therefore if its genuine and honest act our kids will pick after us and simlarly if its a negative behaviour our kids will do likewise. Both instances can draw up valuable lessons because if my kid were to see me stole from someone they will say that is a wrong thing dad is doing so we mustnt follow or if the dad did a good thing they will say dad did the right thing lets learn from him. Isnt this a logic rather than a curse.? Typing on my tablet is tedious if not i would like to type down the entire sms transpire between us and everyone can see for themselves how this issue develop and it was like me begging him to address and resolve the problem. I have done all i can from suggesting he take it home and try it out for himself to see how the watch function to taking the watch for repair and return to me when its done..both of which he refuses. What else do i need to do.? I was so piss off that at one point i even offer to let him keep the watch for good because im so sick of it.. Its like going up against a wall. Thks

Hi! Early this year i bought a rolex datejust on Ebay from this Hong Kong seller. When the second hand fell off after a week we both work out a solution but since i dont have time to send it to Rolex Centre to have it repair which he agreed to pay for it was eventually return to him with a full refund. Its the way this damn thing was handle that pisses me off. We dont know for sure when was the last time he wore it and had he leave it somewhere and got magnetise without his knowing then of course he wouldnt know of it and so it becomes my problem. This experience really got me thinking how i am going to safe guard my own interest in future as a buyer or seller. Whether drawing some document is going to help.. Guess giving up all these is the best way of avoiding going thru such stress of dealing with someone like that.. Thks

Hi. Thanks for your contribution. U know the funny about this magnetism. When i meet with crippy that evening he related his past experience where one of his seller accuse him of magnetism when the watch he sold crippy develop some problem and when crippy said the same thing to me when i told him about the watch problem i was like isnt this is the same story he told me when we met. He told me how he refute that seller as he said he place his watch on the shoe rack and so how can it be magnetize. Similar when i took over that watch that night i wore it home. Took off to have my bath and place it on the piano key board cover. At about 10.40pm i took some photos of it on my coffee table. That night i wore it to sleep. I wore it to work the next day and at 11.54am i sms and told him that i notice that his watch is running about 15mins slow and im late for my appointment..where did this magnetism comes about i dont know. If my usual habit can cause it to be nagnetize then those watches i wear everyday would have develop similar problem. Thks

hi! Thanks for your help. Since u have previous dealing with him mayb you can tell me what was it like. I wouldnt say he is out to cheat but its his constant pushing away his responsibilityto address the problem that really piss me off. I tried to forget it and walk away thinking that my short business trip to K.L will help me get over it but when i see the watch on my return it just get to me and of course that still voice within me was saying why can i ever get let a young man almost half of my age to beat me to this and i just walk away quietly. Felt really stupid. Probably this experience will make me give up everything about watches.. No more selling or buying or trading.. Thanks.

Hi. I wouldnt say he sat out with intention to cheat but simply doesnt want to take responsibility for it. He now can say his verbal guarantee also have terms. As to what term this is was not spelt out or made known to me at the time of transaction when i told him he must give me a month guarantee.
Anyway i see that he finally replied once this is a hot topic now. I will read all over what he said and try to address it from there although its difficult trying to type using my tablet keyboard. Thanks..

i dont understand why u see a need to let things rest ?Originally posted by exxondus View PostI think crispy isnt too bad. In my case with another seller, i was sold a watch that eas definitely faulty. The movement had to be recalibrated and the crown thread was already worn.
Imo, the seller would at least have known the crown issue if not the movement issue. Anyway, repairs totaled 1.2k after i bought the so called advertised mint watch from him.
In additon the so called full box and paper advertised was fake too. Cos the box was not the correct box, the papers like the chronometer cert was missing as well.
Why i bought it? Cause i saw he has been a regular seller on this forum and i had never hamdle that model before so was not sure what to expect. In the end, i decided to give up and did not contact the seller for all the misrepresentation and hiding of facts.
u'll be doing a great favour to everyone by calling out the seller here

Crippy and JAMYLIM, I think it is best for you guys to bring the watch to get it repaired.
If the watch is magnetized, Crippy do not have to take any responsibility. But if it is faulty by other ways, like gear damaged blah blah blah, I suggest Crippy to pay for the repair services.
After the watch issue has been resolved, Crippy, I suggest you sue this guy for harrasement, take the SMS with you as proof, chances of you winning is super high especially when religion is involved.
In no situation should the buyer curse the sellers religion and family when the seller is trying to resolve the issue with you.
But end of the day, it is his words vs yours, the best way to settle the dispute is still between you 2, do keep us update on this.

Hi all
This thread has come to my attention, and I feel that I should not be silent about this. I am Paul Lim (real name), my contact number is 91291285. This matter has certainly brought a lot of unhappiness not only to Jamy, but to me as well. I have been selling and buying on this forum since 2010. I believe I should address this issue.
Like some bros who responded in this thread, the question of whether the watch was magnetized came up a couple of times. I know it is a matter of his words against mine. However, since it has come to this, I feel a responsibility to address it. When the watch was in my possession, I did not encounter any of the problems described by Jamy. This has led me to believe that the faults described by Jamy regarding the watch happened after it left my hands, however brief it was.
In terms of options to resolve this issue, Jamy has insisted that I have traded with him a faulty watch (and that I knew it was faulty before the trade happened), to which I have refuted. Some of you may be wondering why I 'flatly denied' (in Jamy's words) any form of resolution to this conflict. The truth of the matter is that, I am simply at a loss as to how I should respond to his requests when they all implied that I knew the watch was faulty and I lied about it.
I have also never failed to respond to his smses and have never shied away from this issue. In this case, I actually feel victimized. My perception then was that, as a seller, if the product is damaged after leaving the hands of the seller, it is not fair that the seller should be held responsible.
I'm greatly saddened that Jamy, from his interpretation of the events that have transpired, has questioned my religion, profession and my future generation on sms as well as in this thread. This has caused me great anguish and pain. To be honest, in my sms responses to him, I thought this matter had ended, only to be very disturbed by seeing his threats and derogatory statements made against me time and again. But I'm prepared to let go, and put all these unwarranted attacks on my integrity behind me, because failing which, I cannot be true to my faith.
Jamy, I think this case has been blown out of proportions. This does not need to get any worse. Ok, now that our different perceptions have been made clear, and i suppose the only right thing for us to do is to agree to disagree on our perception on these events that have transpired. Now that we have cleared the air, I hope we can just resolve this peacefully. I'm sure both of us can resolve this matter in a dignified and amicable manner. Please let me know when you are available to meet up to resolve this issue in a win-win situation.
Mods, I am sorry if this has caused any disruptions.

That is what sellers should do.Originally posted by polarinda View PostLet me relate this true story to you.
Our founder Darkangel once sold me a divers watch (not cheap).
The watch was not water proof. Fogged up under tap water. The next day, he refunded me in full. No questions asked.
A bad seller would have switched off his h/p after your first call of complaint.

Its not about the watch, its about how one handles a.dispute when problem arises. To flat out deny to even look at the watch in question is poor form of the seller. Stop finding excuses when it comes to bad sellers.
Even if the watch is magnitised, for goodness sake, meet the buyer and resolve it. It shows what kind of person one is by the way they act.
Simple as that.

I will be the devil's advocate here.
I dont think everyone should point the finger @ the seller. Who knows if the buyer actually placed the watch next to some magnetic devices or other electrical devices or other objects which may have cause the watch to 'malfunction'.
I don't believe giving a negative rating to the seller, as neither of us (only seller) knows if the watch is behaving abnormally prior to the sale.
I always believe that it is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that the watch received in good condition because seller can claim that the watch is in this or that condition. If I am a buyer, I would ask the seller to meet me @ a watch technician of my choice on the condition that I will buy the watch as per stated in the thread.

The perpetrator involved, im sure you are reading this thread.
Please get the watch to full functional condition at least.
I have my own experience with the culprit. Hope that you will come clean and resolve this.

I think you better bring your watch to service.
They can advise you better on what is the problem of your watch.
Sometimes it is just because of magnet that is placed near the watch.
Keep the receipt for evidence but I don‘t think case or the police will do anything because it is not a fake.
Good private dealers won‘t do such things, I believe the seller you faced is the user, he might be doing it for one time case, it is really not worth it to spoil their own reputation.
