My personal selection of good steak venues:
CUT - very ex but good for the experience.
Mortons - can't go wrong. What you pay is what you get. Literally! Good value though huge portions but value for $, IMHO.
Table at 7 - bone in wagyu prime rib. Another good value place.
Gattopardo - bone in wagyu prime rib. Also good value.
FLAB - best value. Bone in angus. Will post pics later.

Gattopardo is the italian restaurant at fort cannning hotel.

FL@B (aka Food Lab @ Bahagia) is located in jalan bahagia, whampoa. My home la haha! yeah, the uncut one with a small pice sliced off is something i do at home regularly. very easy and cheap. meat costs $40+/kg. bone in. depends on your luck osmetimes the angus can be pretty heftily marbled.

i just dont get the silly spinning salad thingy at lawry's. a mischievous friend once decided to kacheo the waitress and asked her what will happen if she didn't spin the bowl and told her not to do so cos he was feeling giddy looking at it. she was dumbstruck.

LOL! I wish I was there to see their reaction when your mischievous friend asked her that question. Of course they would claim that it will mix the salad better. I'm sure that there are other ways to mix the salad, but maybe they think that spinning the salad is more 'graceful' or 'elegant'? I don't care how they mix it, as long as it tastes nice. =)
