IMO, the brightness of the lume for Ball watches in general is just about right. The lume should be purposeful. If it shines like a torch, it'll be too distracting and u'll be attracting unnecessary attention everywhere u go.

Since mine certainly doesnt light up that much.
Ball watches uses H3 tubes as lume not light...
Lume as compared to SL is bright already.
Don't expect it to dazzle in the dark

Actually i have ever check with the local agent and was told that T25 is meant for Japan market as the country have a restriction on the level of tritium gas in watches..Which is why japan nvr have the aviator(T100)

Kind of a silly thing for Japan

In terms of brightness, it's not tat far away between T25 & T100.

It depends on where the watch is. If the watch is in the dark, a T rated Ball watch can be pretty bright but certainly not when u are in a bright/semi-bright environment. Some folks have a different definition of a torchlight i suppose!

H3 is the term for tritium tubes which are used in watches like Ball, Luminox, etc which are different from most other watches using superluminova paint for lume. The T ratings refer to how bright the lume is, in units of mC with T25 for 25mC and below and T for anything over 25mC and below 100mC. There's no such thing as T100, thats a typo.

H3 lume is unlike a freshly charged superluminova lume... it does not have the super bright lume. H3 lume will be more apparent when u are in the dark. The big advantage of H3 lume is its consistency and it does not need an external light source to charge it. As u have mentioned, the display showcase uses UV light to make the H3 lume stand out. U can do the same by shining a UV torchlight on your watch.

I just got myself a Ball Aviator. But the lume is kinda weak. So I am wondering if thats normal or not since I thought that aviator is the brightest among all Ball watches?

At the shop display counter, its way brighter perhaps due to the uv lighting. But when I came home, its weak but it does maintain throughout the whole night.

    Any Ball owners comment?
