So far my 47mm new toy is not ticking as loud as my 44mm ones. My conclusion is the metal movement protector and the better built case does reduce the ticking. Higher price too

BTW mine isnt a RXW or Pam, its just another homage from the 'poisonous bro' here in this forum haha

A $180 MM20 has a loud ticking sound which sometime I found it quite irritating but RXW made a nice built watch especially with the sapphire crystal glass. It looks extremely beautiful. You can browse the web for it's photos and I can tell you this is one of the beautiful watch which I don't regret in buying this for more than 2k at this time.

Of cos due to the law case and the it's limited production, it is getting more expensive than few years back but this watch is the one of the cheapest collectors' watch that you can own.

Now looking at Panerai, some of the models are having the retail price of around 15% increase or some even more. It's a fact that a good watch has its own value. And I believe down the road the value of this watch will be increasing. My 2cents worth!

my thoughts exactly. i would rather wait for friends and colleagues going to Japan to be on the lookout for me(worked well for me so far!) then get instant gratification through paying the prices these pieces command nowadays.

2000 USD for a homage model is kinda hard to swallow.

i wont say it is not a well made watch. @ 800-900 for a RXW, i still say ok price. not good price, considering it is still using a base ETA movement with designs similar to that of well-known brands.

it seem to want to make a point - same/similar movements, why is one 1k while another well-known brand can sell for 7 times its price? is it branding or something?

if it cost 800-900 when it first launch, then why is it commanding such a price now? because of legal suit? or is it no more production that makes it highly sought after.
