but seriously .. after seeing Mark Lee drives the R-class (with "4444" license plate), this model has been strike off from my dream car list ! Not sour grape (I have license plate better than his , though not the car) .. but suddenly this model looked so "tasteless" to me now

actually right.... quite a few of the merc offerings of late havent been selling well. only the s and e class i see moving. also noticed a surge in C63 for some reason. the rest *imo* cannot make it

My friend just bought an E....I prefer the C but top choice is CLS.

CLS is not a nice car to drive......difficult to explain to u. u must drive it to understand what i am saying.

cos i attended mercedes benz driving experience held at changi where sg air show was held. have the chance to drive A class, B class, C class, E class (not the new W212 but W211), S class, M class, SLK, CLK and CLS.....

and the best car to drive is C class and SLK.

Cool. I did a driving experience there too but with Audi. The left hand drive TDI engines were great. I like the S5 drive best.

I like the CLS styling and thought 350 is a great engine...maybe handling got issues? I have not driven it before. The C is nice. Tried a friend's C32 AMG last time and the power is just sweet on the NS. Had really wanted to get it but no money. Now, they are all gone and the subsequent C55 and C63 were even more beyond reach. The current C looks very avant garde, just need a little more power.

In fact, I was toying of getting a W123 for the nostalgic and vintage drive feel on lazy weekends. This one is classic.

agree with u that audi is nice......younger bro just bought an A5 coupe and will collect it in may 2010. the handling of CLS is not that great....feel sluggish and the interior like E class.

W123 is 1980s 200 model, right? think quite dfficult to find now.....

Yep...the 1980s 200...some even got the wagon style. You are right, not many good ones....like vintage rolex.

I always like Audi interior and turbo power but lately I have developed a love for rear-wheel drives cars for a more solid handling feel.

I'm also thinking of getting a New E250 sedan , got to fetch my kids around so no coupe for me , but agreed that the coupe is alot nicer than the sedan , or maybe get a used slk and buy my wife a small car .
Btw if gonna get the new E , probably will get from PI , cheaper by around 20k , and with higher specs .
Thinking of changing my ride in a few mths time .

335 has been around for a while and my friends who are driving it has no issue with the turbo engine. Go for it!

Went to Lexus yesterday for servicing and heard there is a IS250 hybrid coming out. Sounds nice and can save petrol and environment but sad that they never bring in IS350. That's one sweet ride.

A certain used boxster also interest me but seriously think of saving money from car to get a few more watches.

there are pro and con from buying from PI. buy from PI, lower price, higher spec but when u want to sell it, the selling price tend to be lower too. my first benz is W210 and from PI....thou it come with higher spec...but some of the spare parts, the local dun carry....trust me on this. i thou as long as it is merc....the part should be the same but it is isn't. i am not car expert so i just live with the faulty side mirror.

i feel that by paying a bit more from cycle.....if the car got some problem.....cycle can retify it....take my W211 for example....the electronic brake is faulty and cycle replaced it for me FOC even thou the warranty period is over. if not, the cost is more than 2k.

that is why i am looking around now.......yet to make up my mind what car i will eventually buy.

Haha my W210 kompressor from C&C back than , have not had any problems with the ride thru 3.5 years of ownership , but i dun service it at C&C after 1st year , its just too expensive compare to workshop outside , Understand from my PI that they bring in the new E250 from UK with full original AMG kit, just worndering if there is any diff with cars import by C&C and PI , the parts thing can be quite a headache if we can't source for parts locally .
