Shld I buy a watch winder?

Hi gd day to all, some issues tt I need ur advice. I own a pam 312 n been thinking if I need to buy a winder?

Cos I only wear my pam on weekends, so usually during weekends when I wanna wear my watch, e watch already been stop.(cos pwr reserve 3days)

Nw wat worry me is freq winding n pulling in/out of e crown to set date/time, will it cause wear n tear more on e crown? Scare touch wood will e crown spoil 1 day?

So been thinking shld I get e winder so wen I wanna wear I no need to wind n set time/date again.

However understand this add wear n tear to e watch too. Also read if put in winder might cause watch to fully wind n cause freq wear n tear to e cluth. So dilemma, so need some advice from all expert here

interesting point you made about screw threads being damaged. why would you say it would damage the threads? due to lack of lubricant? encountered before? watch technician comments?

If watch is not put on winder and you need to adjust the time everytime you want to wear them, means you need to screw and unscrew your crown. Over years, consistant wear will damage threads. I read this some place on watch winders and sadly I also experience this with a my vintage rolex (maybe due to careless handling too), had this repaired outside.

Is frequent resetting the watch by hand recommended?

No, not in the long term. Manually resetting or rewinding your watches using the watch's screw down crowns will cause a problem over the long run, namely, thread wear. That is, manually unscrew the crown to wind and reset the watch by hand will eventually cause wear and tear to the crown's thread and other mechanism, in particular the gasket employed to water-seal the watch. Thus, frequent resetting the watch manually is not only inconvenient, it is also not recommended as doing so would accelerate wear and tear to the watch in the long term.

given your usage of wearing, the power reserve for both omega and B&R would have either have been entirely used up or close to used up by the time you next wear it.

however, i given that it is likely that you have to advance a day or two since the watch has likely no power reserve. in this scenario, i would say give the winder a miss. unless you are someone who prefers to have the watch wound up and ready to be worn then get a winder.

If you wear it once a month, i guess it not necessary for a winder. Although most watch maker(not that i am one. ) would tell you to wear it often so that the lubricant(unless your watch movement uses lubricant-free movement) in your watch would "mixed" with the watch parts and ensure that your watch operate properly, it will also cost wear and tear as well.
Even if you buy a winder, after a while, you will just end up forgeting to start the winder like i did.

Do i need a watch Winder ??

im just newly own my Seamaster 300m chronometer and i have an Oris BC4 Small Second, Pointer Day as well. I seldom wear them due to my working environment. Normally i wear my Tissot quartz to work which i bought it from switzerland in 10 years ago. it work great well to me and it is the one who lead me into the quality watch.

So, since i seldom wear my Seamaster & Oris, shall i own a watch winder ?? or i just leave it ?? i might just wear my watch once a week or once a month.

If i shall get one watch winder then can anyone advise me what TPD shall i looking for ???

how can you say it aint no help? because there is no clear cut yes/no answer? that is why i told you to do a search and need to read, then decide what is best for your watches. if you have found those threads and read, you will realize that there are no definite answers also.

before you embark on your journey to look for winders, you need to ask yourself some questions. do you believe that constant winding will cause the watch movement to be worn out faster? if you believe so, then don't get a watch winder. otherwise, you can consider getting a watch winder.
