Can I Buy This Rolex With a $7000 Budget for my Wife?

    Dear bros,

I am new to rolex and this forum, currently thinking of buying a new ladies rolex datejust 26mm black dial with roman letter (is that called that?).

What is the retail price and common discount? Will my budget be sufficient? Very paiseh to walk into a shop without buying.

Thank you all for the help

    Triton. Apologies for the confusion.

When I said change dial for no extra cost. I mean diff dials cost the same except for MOP dial. Eg. A black dial is the same px as the white or grey dial. MOP cost extra and so is those with diamond.

This applies when buying new only. The Ads don't change the dial. It is just d
    Same model with diff dials.
    Sorry...

with that budget, you should be able to get a ladies steel DJ (197174) with diamond and even MOP.

you can change the dial with no extra cost, EXCEPT MOP which is extra. Diamonds are also extra.

Good luck! You cna't go wrong with this

This suggestion maybe (or may not be) radical: Get her a men's size 40mm - 42mm i.e. Milgauss, DJII, EXP II - just in case if she's sick of it, you can both share it!

I am seeing heaps of ladies (with small wrist) in my office wearing men's size watches...so it's a trendy thing now.

    Just a thought.

    Cheers,
    TELE

just want to clarify that AD do not change dial.

there are different combination of dial and markers as well as case material for a ladies DJ.

my suggestion is that you and/or your wife select on the case material first - ss/tt/wg/etc. once you have select the case material. i suggest you ask the AD to see 'their' catalog which will have all the different dials and markers combination.

this is because certain dial and markers only available in ss/tt/wg/etc, some dial and markers are available in various material. the combination is too many to list down. hence select the case material first and take it from there.

do understand that the discount for each model is varied as well. it is not about 10% max but rather it is UP to 10%.

Thks for the suggestion. BTW, the steel DJ 197194 tat u mentioned, izzit TT? or just steel with diamond markers and MOP.
Jus an ignorant qns, got such thing as option not to have the date but replaced with normal marker?
Heard tat the norm nowadays is abt 10% dis max, possibility tat we can squeeze the AD for more?

    Thks in advance.

    Getting a Rolie For Wifey

    Hi,

Newbie here, thinking of getting a lady datejust for my wife as a present for our first baby. Preferably 26mm cos her waist is small. Saw the DJ steel and WG, black jubilee dial with diamonds, model 179174. Possible with a budget ard $10k - $12K (Can stretch a bit more)? BTW, do we have a choice for the dial, i.e. change to mother of pearl or smething else?

Any other choices besides the above. Appreciate any advise. Thanks.

    Regards.

even though that there is no GST in the airport, they may give you less discount and hence it's possible that you are paying higher than what you can get at Orchard road, even with GST. It's the % discount that matters.

I was quoted around 13K also... really cursing myself for not getting before the price increase. I saw some threads where some bros were able to get a 20% discount... wonder where?

Its true, I used to work at the airport. Travellers in the transit area making any purchases are entitled to 7% GST waiver.

Yes, you can say that. Example, if one particular model has no discount at all outside airport, you can at least get a 7% dis at Changi Airport.
