Yes. Taipei is not a 'better' choice to buy ROLEX watches.

most important is check the price(s) for the model(s) you are looking at. compare the prices when you are there. if it is cheaper, then can consider, else buy in sg.

    setbacks?

well, if you buy from overseas, you are unable to start to build relationship with AD if you consider to get more watches from same and/or different brand(s). once you build a relationship with AD, there are perks (tangible and/or intangible) benefits.

also buying from overseas, you need to visit the authorized dealers to ensure that you are buying genuine ones.

another point to consider is that if you buy from overseas, if your watch got problem, then you have to go RSC on your own. you cannot go back to AD and seek re-address.

all the above is on condition that you are not frequently traveling into and out of taipei.

If I buy from overseas AD what's the setback?

Thanks & your comments are most welcome.

try to use paypal whenever possible. in an event if the deliver product is not as describe then you can lodge a complaint to paypal and they can assist you.

use bank wire transfer only if buyer totally trust the seller. this is because once the money is wired, there is almost no way to get back money if the deliver product is not as per describe during negotation and/or transaction.

    Dear All,

    I found the ans.

    http://www.sg-roc.com/threads/66417-...903#post435903

Hope this will be useful for those who has the same question.
Or am I the only one..

But I have one more question, if you buy the watch when
you are traveling. Will the local authorized dealer impose handling fees if
something goes wrong with ur new watch?

    Regards,
    keandgl

Advice on getting watches from online store.

    Dear All,

Is it cheaper to get the watches from online store such as this?

    http://en.bensontrade.nl/watches/zep...ears-7608-2-s/

For this Zeppelin 100 Years 7608-2 S, local store is selling at $1303 with a discount of less than 10%.

If buy online, the price will be much cheaper even after adding the shipment fee. Am i right?
Will there be any GST if the watch is deliver to SG?

Has anyone bought watches from this type of oversea online store?
What are the pros and cons?

Is there any thread in here or other sg forum discussing abt watches made in Germany?

    Regards,
    Keandgl

is HK a good place? some people say yes, some people say no. it all boils down to the price you can get.
for an example, an american friend wants to buy TT GMT 2C in sg, after all rebates, he might just be paying abt $9k+ for the piece. So, you have to do some leg work, and ask around.

Just to share experience, last week, my rapidshare account was hijacked by someone without me knowing, which I thought I was downloading something from rapidshare server that need me to re-verify my login name and password... Just imagine if that is my online bank account or paypal....
