Well, sometimes cannot totally blame Rolex, or other watch makers.
Rolex set a retail price for some models, Buyers out there are willing to pay premium price for it.... e.g. the daytona, milgauss, gmt IIC, and probably the coming deep sea.

Take for example rolex sets the list price for milgauss at 9k, it means that the AD's cost is probably 5k-6k? (just a guess). But there are willing buyers at what 15-16k? .... means that the AD make more profit than Rolex?? If you are Rolex, what would you do?

most likely due to the weak USD which is the selling currency in international markets. if you look at USDCHF, USD has depreciated against Swiss Franc by almost 15% in the last 6-7 mths.

    Another Price Increase

    To all,

I've heard rumours of another possible price increase for ROLEX watches in July 2008. Information received yesterday from a local ROLEX AD.

    Thanks.

I have heard that in HK one is able to get cheaper Rolex, diamond and others blah blah stuffs as compared to Singapore. So when i was in HK a couple of years back, i went to check out the prices of Rolex watches there.

The difference between Singapore and HK is that there are many shops selling Rolex and it is not easy to identify which are the authentic ADs.

However I went to one of the more reputable shop and check out the price of DJ Oyster Perpetual which i got it. Looking at the RRP and less of the discount which i casually asked off hand. . . the price is work out to be much better as compared to the one i got in Singapore, taking into consider that I bargain till my jaw drops and I bougth 2 Rolexes then.

I think with more bargaining power one can get more discount....hmmm..
Think the current weaker USD will benefit us when we go HK to shop
