  • Heart dropped! Dented Crown!

My little princess was playing with my DSSD blue and dropped it straight into the floor! Crown face down. Luckily other parts is ok except for the crown that took the first impact. With that amount of weight, it created a bad dent at the edge of the crown dial!

Wondering what would be the cost damage to get it replaced? Don't think it could be repair. Any Bros have any idea? Most likely will just live with it first till the next servicing.
Anyway not really noticeable. But it does hurt.

Argh...I can feel your pain...especially with one that's as expensive as the Dblue Dssd...

I wouldn't even want to ask why is your little precious one was playing with your Dssd. I did gave my little princess played with my Dssd (for some photo-shot) but under strict supervision.

Well...take it as a mark left by your princess to remind you of her every time you see the dent.

          All the best.

Painful but I would leave it alone.

                ouch!

would leave that as it is IF and only IF the watch runs fine...

external scars are ok... just worry about the movement

                good luck!

Although i like the rest would also let it be as i let all my Rolexes be cosmetically.

However you will be glad to know that it doesnt cost much to just replace the crown at RSC.

Crown change is included in the service charges iirc.
Enjoy and laugh about the dent with your daughter man. It will be with you life long.

Ouch.. Looks bad. Would get the watch checked out at RSC. Impact with enough force to dent the crown may have also done damage to your stem and other delicate movement parts?

Haha at first I thought the same too but as mentioned... Been monitoring the movement everything seems normal. If any part / mechanism comes loose or damaged, the movement would have been affected. And nothing wrong with the stem too cos I'm still able to wind it without any issue. Putting on my engineer cap... the crown is screwed down so there's no way the crown could move further in as it act like a mechanical stopper plus some cushioning effect from the seal.

From pic shown seems quite serious maybe because of the macro but in actual quite difficult to notice!

Anyway, not going to send in for servicing since it's still working. Thou the actual warranty still valid but most likely will not be honoured cos of poor handling on my side! Cheers
