The prices at the ADs are controlled. The prices of ROLEX watches outside of any authorized dealer (AD) is "free-for-all" to decide. The reason why people outside are selling the new Skydweller so high because stocks are very limited, and the demand is high.

Some relevant information...

According to the sales person, the gold portion on the SELs (solid end links) are solid gold pieces and not plated. Same goes for the bezel. However, the other gold portions on the bracelet are brushed gold plates:

Cellini Moonphase will be the one i will be getting (in my dream unfortunately)
a correct size for a dress watch, which in my view will look equally great in dress-down mode. Rolex models with moonphase are very uncommon (i only see some vintage ones online).
