$9555 is for SS but all AD are selling above list, between $10.5K to $11K. You also have to be placed in a waiting list. The wait is around 6 months, I believe. I have checked in a few countries and most of them have no stocks except in HK. I got a friend who found 2 pieces for me and I will be buying it when I am there 1st week of May.
I might be able to get 1 more in Seoul but must pay 20% down payment (hoping my source able to confirm for me by next week). I am waiting for my friend to confirm the date of stock arrival and I will fly there to get the GMTIIc.

Thanks Men, I am particularly interested in GMT II and Explorer II. Sounds like I won't be able to get much discount on GMT II. what about Explorer?

depending on what models?Originally posted by fengz View PostHi All,
Is it true in Singapore that you can negotiate a 5-10%discount from a list price, plus, if you buy duty free, you can get additional 10% tax free?

usually the hot models
1) daytona - let's not talk about 5-10%, u can pay another 50% above the list
2) milgauss - current one of the models that is selling above premium
3) SD - current selling @ list
4) there are current other models that are going above list such as the GMT II ceramic, and others.
5) the rest, u can get up to 10%
u cannot claim 10% as duty free. i think what is more likely is u referring to the GST of 7%. however, u cannot claim FULL 7% as there is administrative charges.

i would say it works for certain models. i remember when i went to m'sia, the cost of 2nd hand DJ was 1:1 in johor. not to mention that the environment is not that safe hence i never bother to look further. also my m'sian customers tell me that they prefer to buy in s'pore as it is safer and easier to get service without having to worry about authencity issues. of course YMMV.Originally posted by fongwk76 View Posti just came back from HK. The standard discount there is 8% and i think the ADs are quite firm on that. Checked the discounted price of a datejust which my wife wanted and it was more expensive than SG.
But i managed to get myself a TT GMT Master II 166173. List Price was lower than SG and they also gave me the 8% discount.
The SS GMT 166170 was to tough to find, only the non ADs had it and the lowest price i saw was abt HKD55k ~ SG$9.8k. No discount.
i would say that the SA will look at the customer and gauge the amount of discount that they are willing to give.
