      From what I know, the markers and hands are made of gold. To prolong the lifespan of parts, I stand corrected though.

        When they start using white gold hands?

        I use to have a sub 168000,the hands is rusty.

          i dont think gold rust, rather gold can corrode if other metals are present. an example of metal is gold is nickel in white gold.

            gold can oxidize. IIRC, any metals containing ferrous materials WILL oxidize, and this includes gold as there is no such thing as 100% gold (max 24kt which is 99.99%).

            however this oxidation can be easily removed if the items is not fragile (eg, gold oyster case + toothpaste + toothbrush).

            in the case of watch hands... hmmm....!!!
