Haha no la...the pic is already a turnoff. And to me it's pure crap la...so won't touch that. And the new subs are really really ugly. Always thought Rolex came out with PERFECT designs, never expected something like this would happen.

Think I am quitting Rolex after I get my Rollies on my wishlist. That's it liao.

Sorry guys, I do like the new SD as it's the right size. 42mm is the size I personally think it's great for any one who wrist size from 6" to 6.75" or 7".

However, I have doubts when it comes to depth rating. Y 3900m ??? It's 100 times of a 40m Padi advance diver rating. Is there a market for this as "COMEX (Compagnie Maritime d’Expertise), a world-renowned French company specialising in underwater engineering and hyperbaric technologies" ,might be the ones to use DP-SD more often than anyone.

It's so freaking cold down in the Abyss and Is Rolex curious to know what's down there at 3000m ??? Rolex broke the record so far as it use to be GP Sea Hawk series at 3000m rating. Hmmm... What is Rolex having in their mind ? A breakthrough in watch making and to attain their CROWN?

So my perceived "photoshop" wording exist on the thickness of the chapter ring. Not where the current M-series type of engraving where the state the s/n of the watch.

With a protruding thickness of the chapter ring, hope the increase in case size will be enough to accomodate it, so that the dial won't look smaller.

    The 16660 still better...
Yeah..I think Rolex is starting to turn me off already. The new models very very very ugly. One of the biggest mistake they made and I made till date. I stood very strongly on my stand that the pics were fake, but I was wrong

Sigh...I guess my analysis was wrong. I have to admit my mistake. Looks like Rolex did change some things again,I am very sorry if I have offended anyone.

BIG seems the way to go... they are probably responding to pressure from brands like panarai.
Though frankly, if they were REALLY serious about going deep sea rather than just the fantasy of it ...
firstly, they wouldn't bother with platinum fill - makes no difference. Secondly, the face would be orange not black. Doxa proved scientifically years ago the most visible dial colour deep at sea is orange.

Looks kinda ugly I must say. Designed by the same funky crew who did the yachtmaster II ?

I can only imagine the pricing ... ouch.

Didn't they announce last year they were not replacing the 16600 for some time more?

I think with the introduction of this will see the discontinuation of the existing 16600. Wonder if their prices will rocket up? Those current owners of 16600, Congrats

Hmm.... the upgraded DeepSeaSD .. The dial is too busy and the Ring Lock System as well as the Original Gas Escape Valve on the chapter ring?? juz made it worse, IMO. I think we will have to name it DSSD (in short with its initials??? sounds funny ). No confirmation yet if this model is a replacement for the current SD... If it is indeed a replacement then that will signalled the discontinuation of the 1220m - 4000 ft SD and oh boy, am I so glad to have the "old" SD . disappointing news from the Rolex quarter thus far
