BUY what you like...... it better be a SUB

Ok seriously, just go with your heart and choose what you fancy most.. put the qns you posted as a secondary concern...

I got a sub, I sold the sub.. regret it? Nope.. cos before that, I yearn to have it, after that, I don't fancy it any more... (got bored with it kekek), so it varies with individual... Only think is, I THINK I want a Sub LV now.. so will see how that goes...

            Desired horologes ...

            - IWC Portuguese Automatic
            - GMT II
            - GMT IIc TT
            - Reverso Squadra Hometime (7008620)/ Reverso Squadra
            - Master Eight Days (1608420)
            - U1
            - IWC Aquatimer

An exquisite timepiece, brings timeless memories and precious moments...

Well, the explorer 2 is about the cheapest you can get (pre-owned). Sub's are perceived as evergreen and touted to be discontinued in 2010 when the maxi case sub will replace all contemporary subs - that's why the focus at this point. But many have neglected the explorer 2. What if the explorer 2's get a new maxicase? It'll be a true underdog in my opinion. Dealers have told me that the explorer 2's are in abundance in the market.... but that's what I heard of the GMT2 in 2005. And look at them now. Buy what you like and what sings to you. Any potential upside when you sell the watch in future is a bonus. I came full circle in search of the perfect sub for myself... from subdate to dweller... and eventually...the SubLV that's sitting on my wrist at this moment. My 2 cents.

nice. why do they call it 3185 w/parachrome spring? Isn't it called a 3186?

Louis: buy whatever appeals to you. For example, right now I am considering a exp-II 16570 against a vintage GMT 16750 which should logically be a better buy... but the exp-II sings to me more...

that said, neither the ExpII 16570 or Sub 16610 are particularly rare. Both have been in production for more than 10 years... the sub for 19yrs. If you want something that is a better investment, go vintage ... like the older sub 16800 . Alternatively, get the green sub16610LV .

i personally prefer a polar exp-II though imho a subbie will definitely hold value better in the long run.

i usually don't follow the crowd favourite, plus my uncles, cousins all have at least a subbie.
so naturally, i fell in love with the exp II 16570 white!!
go for it! as mentioned, it may reward you in value in the years to come...

like what I always tell my friends when they want to commit to a Rollie...buy what you like, coz in the end, you're paying your hard-earned money for it, and its gonna be on your wrist.

People can advise u about the value of each model and how exclusive it may become, but let me ask you, are you buying it to wear it or you are gonna sell it eventually?

The Sub is timeless but the Explorer II is a good looking watch too...go with what your heart tells you...
