  • Advisory : Modifying Rolex

    Hello Friends,

I am not sure if this has been discussed before but I came across this site:

    Blackoutconcept dot com

And they have super cool rolex: modified, DLC-ed or customised colored.

Any advice on future warranty, resale value and authenticity issues?

Did it occur to you that the information may already be available in the forum? I managed to search for it here:

    http://www.sg-roc.com/threads/69423-...hlight=concept

    Happy reading.

Would basically void your warranty and ability to have your watch accepted for service by RSC...

FYI, there is a Rolex Yachtmaster modified by Bamford which is selling at Passions @ Funan.

                        Rolex watch modification.

When browsing through overseas Rolex forums, I can see a lot of ang mohs like to modify their Rolex watches (dial, bezel, hands, date wheel, etc) whereas most of us in SG like to keep our watch 100% original.
Is it a cultural difference or just another stream of watch enthusiasm?
Would like to hear your opinions, thanks!

I'm not really sure but I reckon the main contributing factor is the availability of parts. That is, those items that you need to modify your watch may be readily available in those countries or at least, easier to obtain as compared to Singapore.

i am a datejust person. I like to modify the bezel & dials to diamonds, etc...

believe this is my enthuasm that you can have a different variation of the same watch instead of having many different watches or models.

Many of our bros here are love original and are purists. This is why I cannot find the parts very readily availble in Singapore. I was in MBK centre, bangkok 2 weeks ago.... it was heaven to me Beautiful big diamond bezels, unique pieces that you cannot find here in sg.
