  • Do you buy watch due to the feature or novelty ?

Honestly, do you use the daytona chronograph often ? Dive deep with deep sea ? Work in antimagnetic environment with milgauss ? Climb the mountain using explorer ? Often use the gmt 2 time zone ? Honestly, I buy it for novelty but not necessary use the feature frequently .

I believe most of us buy an expensive/luxury watch mainly for its 'novelty', ie branding or aesthetics. However, if you look at it the other way, your choice of not buying may be due to its (lack of) feature(s), meaning, you may not want to pay a high price for a watch that has no specific feature(s). For example, the Submariner 114060M (non-date). Some people do feel paying 8K for a watch they don't dive with and has no date is not worthy.

whatever reasons is how one justify or convince oneself.

as mentioned, you buy because you use your own hard earn money to reward yourself.

Think most of us are fascinated by the design of the watch rather than the features but then there are also exceptional cases, for example I do believe some of the fellow forum brothers and sisters do use the time zoning feature from the Sub, GMT II or the Exp II and I'm one of them on Exp II.

I used to go for functions like chronograph etc. but now, it all boils down to how much I am attracted to the watch. The functions are most of the time useless but some designs do make the watch look more appealing.

                      Cheers.

You buy it because you like it.. simple Features came in as a bonus.

How different can you tell time? Definitely because of the looks.

When I wash my cup in the morning, the splashes can be quite nasty. DSSD is just about right to handle the pressure.
