  • Should I keep my 1601 or upgrade to turn o graph

I had never like the date just till recently ...maybe as age gets older as I alway feels that this is a ah pek watch. Cut the story short..I just got a 2 mil series 1601 which given its age the condition was rather mint , face and dial looks very clean. ( mainly also price was right as do not want to spend more in case I don't bond with the watch). However being a very particular person, this 1601 have some minor flaws which kind of disturb me as I prefer my watches to be LNiB .

Therefore I would like to seek some bros comments and advise.

Here's the details of my 1601 as I do not know how to post pics

    Rolex 1601
    2 mil series
Band - jubilee ( rather mint but slightly stretched) still in very good working condition
    Dial - silver
    Movement - C 1570

The hour and mins hand is slightly oxidised , should I change it ? Secondly , this model does not have a quickset date . Should I keep it or just sell it off to fund my turn o graph? Any advise?

Dude, dont change anything unless it is broken.
If you like LNIB, you should have bot a BNIB to be sure.
Scratches and imperfections defines character of the watch.

On your question to get turnograph. Go for it!

If you cannot give the watch any wrist time then it would be better to use it for fund for another watch. If you would opt to keep it then in my opinion do not change the hands as its normal for watch of such age.

Sell if it's going to make you feel disturbed.

Use it to fund the next watch.

Bro..sometimes flaws make it vintage(as I learn along from this forum). Buying pre own watch is a fate!....try recall where you are when this watch is out.

The watch may have gone through a lot of experiences just like us...it still can tell time but not it's stories(its up to you to imagine)

If you keep thinking abt it, then sell to upgrade.
