  • Day Date Model 18038

    Hi DD experts,
do you know which year the DD 18038 was from?

what is the difference in terms of features of the 18038 compared to the current DD models?

    appreciate any comments thank you.

    Should be in the....80s...

Single Quickset if I am not wrong..

Main diff I believe would be the day and date quick set function

Comparable current model is 118238. 18038 evolved from single quickset (date) to 18238 which is double quickset (day and date). 118238 started in the early 2000s, which adds a more solid bracelet (vs the earlier hollow bracelet) and a slightly different case (more rounded) and polished lugs.

1803 is non quickset. Could be a pain to set the day and date if it's not a daily wearer or placed in watch winder...

Hi DA,I was always confused over the differences of the 4 models.

looking at the A1 reply , agree 18238 is the one worth buying if getting 2nd hand DD.

Hi Vince, my own observation of prices between DD 1803 n the 18038 is about around $2 to 3K but suggest you buy 18238 (double quickset).
mine is 18238 and you can set the day and date in a matter of seconds!

I purchased a white gold 2nd hand DD18238 in Jan for $15.5k with diamond markers in good condition.

yellow gold 18238 depending on condition/year/diamonds costs cheaper but I don't think you can get any for less than $10K+++.

I intend to buy YG and RG DD eventually but a lot depends on the stock market
