Yeah I'll be keen to buy a WG DD also. What are the used prices for Platinum? Do they take a hit once used also?

I'm too lazy to dig out my suggested retail price list. Any idea what the retail and discount is for a basic platinum DD? I imagine it will feel very nice and heavy on the wrist.

Any ideas why Day-Date take a big hit once 2nd hand, whereas sports models generally keep value?

Cos of the demand for sports models....

Daydate is deemed as the "uncle watch" to many..so the younger generation tend to shun the Daydate...

                          interesting ...

looking for a rolex, and was thinking of the steel daytona because of all the hype, but when I put it on my wrist, much prefer a white gold day-date ...

                          btw in my 30s

The steel daytona is one of the most sought after watches in the world, I'm saving to get one especially next year if there is going to be a 50th anniversary daytona!

The Gold Day dates have been the icon of Rolex for more than 50 years.
Personally I think it is a good buy especially second hand,I mean the whole watch made of 18K gold rather than some other steel watches of the same price.

sooo to make it easier...buy Both!

IMHO,if you compare Daydate or daytona in Gold both around same age , i think the price not much different .
Maybe you get a diamond dial on the DD whereas the daytona is normal dial , but the daytona weights abit more in terms of weight .
