actually how do you guys know what watch ah long wears?

i hope you will report to police if you see them in action.

from what i hear, ah long may even be professionals like doctors and MDs etc earning big bucks and getting people to grow their income. so they may in fact be wearing daytonas.

If you like it and can afford it, then buy it. I seldom see ah long wearing daytona though.

The only challenge - if you are too young and you wear a daytona in t-shirt and bermuda.... people may suspect it is a fake.

As far back at 15 years ago, my japanese colleagues used to tell me that every confirmed member of the Japanese triads (Yakuza) will be given a black faced SS Daytona. As a result, many young Japanese professionals also jumped on the bandwagon to get one to indirectly tell people that they are affiliated to the triads....sort of like telling you don't play play with me.....Then, the price of the SS Daytona was already at a very high premium (about S$18k) and I told myself I must be either stupid or crazy to buy it.

However, fast forward to 2003. I bought the YG Daytona because I still don't believe in paying a ridiculous premium for the SS. But after 11 years, I still could not believe that the SS price still did not come down. Along the way, I always envy those owners who has the SS version. It's such a handsome and understated watch and I am not getting the same satisfaction from my YG daytona even though it was more expensive! In 2006, I had to have the SS Daytona white face and paid for it. To this day, it's still one of my favorite watch.

Thus, whether it's SS, TT, YG, WG or RG Daytona, it's not about what other people think, but what you can afford and what really turns you on.

The TT Blue dial Daytona is indeed a stunning watch, but I prefer mine low key and understated without attracting unwanted attention except from Datona's fans.

Buying a watch is all about personal preference. If you intend to wear it and not just leave it in a winder for future sale, put the watch on your wrist and see how it fits your personality. SS is indeed a collectable item and a work of art. However, if it does not appeal to you while wearing it....

Btw, upon closer look of your posted pic, I think it is a V series. Since this pic is not of the actual watch, its better to verify with the SA.

Put it this way. If I can afford it I'll get the WG model, since I can't I'll go for the SS model.

imo, listen to yourself, not your fren.

although the SS is supposed to be rarer with long waiting list, you are buying to wear so you have to pick one that you like.

personally, i would have jumped at the TT if i have the cash right now. My AD is even able to offer at 16.5k.

Budget is not an issue, just worried I will look like an Ah Long wearing this watch in t-shirt, bermudas and slippers.
